Summer

Summer at May’s Farm: The Peak of the Harvest

When July arrives, the fields at May’s Farm truly come alive. Our summer season kicks off in early July with the first harvest of crisp zucchini, cucumbers, pickles, and snap-fresh string beans. But for many, the true sign of summer is the arrival of our famous sweet corn, picked daily at the peak of perfection.

As the summer sun warms the soil in late July, our fields yield even more variety:

  • The Melon Patch: Fragrant cantaloupe and juicy watermelons.
  • Summer Staples: A rainbow of bell and specialty peppers, plus tender eggplant.
  • A Tomato Lover’s Paradise: We take great pride in our tomato harvest. Whether you're looking for snackable grape and cherry tomatoes, unique heirlooms, or classic beefsteaks, we have it all. For the home chefs, we offer Plum Tomatoes by the pound or the bushel—perfect for your summer canning and sauce-making traditions.
  • Flowers & Farm Stand FreshnessThe farm isn't just about the food; it’s about the beauty. We grow vibrant sunflowers and a variety of cut flowers, available as hand-tied summer bouquets at our stand. Alongside our own crops, we carry a curated selection of fruits and vegetables from fellow local farms, ensuring our stand is fully stocked 7 days a week.
