Spring

Spring arrives early at May’s Farm. In February, we begin sowing the seeds and planting the rooted cuttings for our flowering annuals and vegetable plants. By mid-April, the greenhouses are bursting with beautiful hanging baskets, potted flowers, flats of annuals,  vegetables and herbs, and potted perennials. Around this time, we open our farm stand for the season and remain open 7 days a week, from 9AM until 6PM. For Mother’s Day we have a beautiful selection of hanging baskets and planters available for Mom. We supply plants for local garden centers, as well as for several fundraisers at local schools and organizations.

While we are busy growing and selling our spring plants, we are also planting and caring for our crops in the fields. By late June our sweet peas are ready for picking. They are available for sale at our farm stand, and when supplies are adequate, we open the fields for pick-your-own peas. It’s a fun, educational and delicious way to spend some time with the kids.
